Bolivian CAC members featured in a German TV report!

ZDF logo! dedicated its programming to World Children`s Day, showcasing various facets of the topic. This included a section on the topic of child labour – filmed in the project area of our partner organisation PASOCAP in Bolivia. PASOCAP is active in the mining town of Potosí. Around 7,000 children and young people work there as shoeshine boys or newspaper vendors, as domestic workers or in the mines. They come from very poor backgrounds and thus contribute to the family income. Some of them work under hazardous and dangerous conditions. With the support of Dialogue Works, around 800 working children and young people are now organised and active as part of the Bolivian children’s movement. They claim their rights as working children, for decent wages and working conditions, protective clothing and access to education. The episode is really worth seeing, as it shows why children in Bolivia are often campaigning for their right to dignified work. Closing Event of Dialogue Works

Last Saturday, we hosted the (online) closing event of Dialogue Works—a special occasion that brought together almost everyone involved in the project. Participants included members of the Children’s Advisory Committee (CAC), their parents and caregivers, their coordinators, project staff, the steering committee, and consultants. What made this event even more remarkable was the worldwide involvement of participans. People logged in from across the world—from the Philippines to Guatemala and countless countries in between. In total, 103 Zoom accounts were active during the event, but since many cameras showed groups of children and youth, the actual number of participants was much higher. Highlights of the Event The closing event was filled with a lot of fun activities. Here’s what we did: We are incredibly proud of the impact Dialogue Works has had and grateful for the global community that made it possible.
