Closing Event of Dialogue Works

Last Saturday, we hosted the (online) closing event of Dialogue Works—a special occasion that brought together almost everyone involved in the project. Participants included members of the Children’s Advisory Committee (CAC), their parents and caregivers, their coordinators, project staff, the steering committee, and consultants.

What made this event even more remarkable was the worldwide involvement of participans. People logged in from across the world—from the Philippines to Guatemala and countless countries in between. In total, 103 Zoom accounts were active during the event, but since many cameras showed groups of children and youth, the actual number of participants was much higher.

Highlights of the Event

The closing event was filled with a lot of fun activities. Here’s what we did:

  • Dancing Together: The CAC members from Jesus Cares Ministries, our project partner in Zambia, made a self-written and self-filmed song in 2022, and we all danced along together.
  • Milestones of Time to Talk and Dialogue Works: We went through the milestones of the previous project Time to Talk and Dialogue Works and celebrated the many achievements.
  • Final video: We shared the final project video, featuring CAC members from Nepal, Rwanda, and Peru. In the video, they shared how their experiences as CAC members have helped them grow. You can watch this video below!
  • Another Dance Energizer: Our project partner Christian Advocates for Justice & Development in Negros prepared a beautiful dance that we all enjoyed.
  • Word Cloud Reflection: Participants reflected on their Dialogue Works experiences by creating a word cloud.
  • Certificate: The certificate was introduced and will soon be handed over by the coordinators to the children.
  • Closing: Many CAC members shared how they’ve grown personally and as a group through Dialogue Works. These inspiring and heartwarming reflections were the perfect way to end the event.

We are incredibly proud of the impact Dialogue Works has had and grateful for the global community that made it possible.
