Awareness raising meetings with parents and professors

On 16th and 25th of August the CAC members of IINCAP Peru did their public action: they organised a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Interior and professors from different educational institutations to raise awareness on the violations against children!

Eleven girls and eight boys performed a play in front of their parents and other guests. They prepared four key messages on posters:

• RESPÈTAME, porque soy una persona valiosa que necesita de ti – RESPECT ME, because I am a valuable person who needs you
• NO ME HAGAS DAÑO, ya que eso me lastima, me siento triste –  DON’T HARM ME, since that hurts me, I feel sad
• CUIDAME, necesito de ti de tu amor, te tus consejos, solo de ti – TAKE CARE OF ME, I need your love, your advice, only from you
• PROTÈGEME, de las cosas que me hacen daño – PROTECT ME, from the things that hurt me

The perfomance was a success. After having heard the children´s opinions, many parents claimed that they now want to try to have more patience and confidence, be mothers and friends and avoid all forms of violence. The reflections of the participating children were also positive. One of the members shared thoughts after the event:

«With these activities we can change the mantalitiy of adults, no more violence!»
